Nate got off the boat, followed by a few of his men.

“Nate!” Richard smiled and spread his arms wide for a greeting, perhaps even a hug.

Nathan was one of the oldest friends Richard had. “Friends” was a gross exaggeration when it came to the corrupted circles of society, but Nathan was the closest to being a friend to Richard.

He was a well-known politician and Garrey still couldn’t believe Mike had managed to persuade him to do this.

Perhaps he’d threatened him with jail, Garrey assumed. So Nathan had chosen to betray his so-called friend in exchange for his freedom.

That sounded like a good deal to Garrey.
