Chapter 144
He slowly paced towards the door of Conan’s ward. The man, who was still unnoticed by anyone, peeped through the door and saw Conan lying on his bed in expectation of Vera’s return. From the man’s body language, it was easy to detect that he just wanted the job to be done, but he had to play safe till it was right to do so.
“Vera,” Conan picked up his phone after it rang.
“That would be lovely,” Conan again said before hanging up the phone.
The man was tactfully watching him even as he dropped the phone and closed his eyes to relax a bit before Vera arrived.
“This must be it, this must be the right time to strike.” The man thought.
He took out a pen knife from his pocket and pushed the tip out. He was going to attack, and possibly, kill Conan with that knife.
“Damn! I’m starving, she should be back already,” Conan mumbled as he turned his head away from the door of the ward; his eyes, still closed.
