“Are you ready, Maddie?” Lila asked Madison.
“It’s been a week since Nathan left me and I still feel like it just happened right now. I still feel as terrified as I was when I watched them put the white covering over him.”
Madison and Lila were in a locked room in the church, dressed in an all black outfit. It was Nathan’s burial.
“You are not wrong to feel that way, Maddie. It takes more than a week to forget someone you truly loved.
