The interrogation room went silent as soon as Jeromy pronounced that.
“I’ll tell you everything, I promise.” he said even louder.
“I’m listening,” Detective Conan said to him.
Nathan looked through the tinted glass. He wasn’t hearing a thing but he could feel the tension from the behavior of Detective Conan and Jeromy.
“I’m listening,” Detective Conan said again to Jeromy.
“I saw everything that happened that night.” Jeromy said in an emotion packed voice. “I saw when he broke into the mansion.”
“And what happened then?” Detective Conan was curious. He wanted to get everything down to the minute detail.
“He took a few things from the house and then he left.”
“Was he armed?” Detective Conan asked Jeromy.
“I don’t know,” Jeromy first said. “I didn’t see if he was armed,” he added.
“And why didn’t you call the police?” Conan wanted to know.
“I was scared,” Jeromy lied.
