Chapter 4. Dinner

He has short straight hair. The woman has short curly hair. The clothes are neat, luxurious, and branded. They are Lorenzo’s parents.

Lorenzo immediately walked towards his parents. In the middle of Lorenzo’s walk, Lorenzo’s father had seen Lorenzo’s presence. He immediately poked Lorenzo’s mother and told her where their child was. “Honey, it’s our son!”

Not long after, a servant approached them. “Is there anything I can help you?”

“The menu, please!” asked Lorenzo’s father.

“Okay. Please wait!” Not long after, the waiter left them and looked for the menu. At that time, they started doing small talks.

“How are you today?”

“Okay. How about you, Mom and dad?”

“Okay.”

“Does the business run well, Lorenzo?”

“Yes.” Not long after, the waiter looked for the menu and brought it to them. Once near them, the waiter immediately gave the menu. “This is the menu!”

They immediately saw the food menu. Not long after, Lorenzo’s father mentioned the drink he wanted to order. “Three hot sweet teas.”

“One grilled shrimp, one grilled lobster,” ordered Lorenzo’s mother.

“One black pepper scallop.” Lorenzo’s mother ordered again.

“One tenderloin steak with fries!” Lorenzo’s order made Lorenzo’s father and Lorenzo’s mother glare at Lorenzo. After that, they frowned as they felt confused.

“Are you sure? The seafood here is famous for being fresh and delicious! Usually you like to order salmon or dory fish.” Lorenzo’s father asked Lorenzo’s faith.

“Yes, but I’m not in the good mood to eat fish now.” Lorenzo commented.

“Why are you not in the good mood? You’re usually in the good mood.” Lorenzo’s mother was confused, because her son was not in the mood to eat salmon and dory, which were her son’s favorite fish.

“I ordered one crispy dory fillet,” said Lorenzo’s father.

“Is there anything do you want to order?” Waiter confirmed.

“No.” Lorenzo’s father answered firmly. After that, the waiter repeated their order and asked them to wait. Then, the servant left them. At that time, they made small talk about many things.

“Lorenzo, when do you take your girlfriend out to dinner with me?” Lorenzo’s mother’s question made the atmosphere awkward.

“I don’t have a girlfriend. Later when I have a girlfriend, Mom, I’ll take him to eat with mom and dad.” Lorenzo scratched his head which didn’t itch because he was confused.

“Okay.” Lorenzo’s mother was disappointed, because her son didn’t have a girlfriend yet.

“Why don’t you have a girlfriend? You’re forty years old now, but you don’t have one girlfriend yet. You’re handsome. Your friends are uglier and poorer than you but they already have boyfriends.” Lorenzo’s mother was confused, because she thought her son is handsome, rich and kind. “Then why do you look so nervous? You don’t usually like this. Are you having a problem?” Lorenzo’s father suspected that there is a problem in Lorenzo’s life that made Lorenzo very tense.

“I think the same with you, Dad. Just talk to us! We will definitely help you as much as we can, Lorenzo. Just like in the past when the Hotel Sans Siguiente was built, you borrowed my savings.” Lorenzo’s mother persuaded Lorenzo to talk about the problem that time.

“Please bring me a new knife for steak!” Lorenzo’s mother ordered.

“That knife fell on the floor earlier.” Lorenzo’s mother pointed at the knife Lorenzo was holding. This made the waiter immediately look at the knife Lorenzo was holding.

“Okay.” Not long after, the waiter left them and they waited a while until the waiter came to them and brought a knife for a new steak. After that, the waiter took the knife that had fallen.

“Then, why did you eat steak so nervous until the knife fell like that? Since you were little, you’ve never eaten steak like that. You must be in big trouble.” Those Lorenzo’s mother’s words that forced Lorenzo to explain his reason, but he chose to remain silent.

“Okay! Just talk!” Lorenzo’s mother tried to persuade Lorenzo again.

“Is this about the competitor problem?” Lorenzo’s father guessed about the problem that happened to Lorenzo.

“Nothing about that, Dad.”

“Financial problems?” Lorenzo’s father guessed again. Lorenzo tried to remember about the financial problems that occurred recently. Not long after, he remembered that recently he needed huge funds to build Hotel Sans Cielo, the first cloud top hotel to be launched in his city.

Sans Group and Vargas Group are trying their best to get investors’ passion to invest their money in the hotel project that they are going to make. At that moment, Lorenzo immediately nodded his head and afterwards he acknowledged the matter. “Yes, Dad. I have that problem.”

“Why, My son? Usually you don’t have a problem when it comes to money.” Lorenzo’s mother frowned, because she was confused. For her, Lorenzo is a person who is good at managing finances.
