Chapter 134

“Have you gotten any sleep?” Her father placed his hand on her forehead.

“How can I sleep? Who will protect my baby if I sleep?” She questioned.

“Oh Lucy…” Mr Richards was disrupted by a loud noise coming from the living room.

“What the hell was that?” Mrs Richards whispered.

“I'll go check it out.” Mr Richards volunteered. 

“No dad, let's just call the police. What if the person is armed?” Lucy held her father back but he insisted.

“There's an intruder in the house and sitting around doing nothing won't solve the problem. I'll be fine, I promise.” He replied and slowly made his way out of Lucy's room.

Mrs Richards and Lucy stood by the door with the baby, watching him descend the stairs. They were both terrified that something bad was going to happen to him.
