Chapter 139

“You're gonna turn heads at that gathering, that's for sure.” Cage admired her. She looked so much better than he remembered and he was happy for her for successfully embracing her better self.

“Thank you.” She blushed.

“Have fun okay? I should get going now.” He said and walked away. Mira turned around to get another glance at him and tears threatened to fall from her eyes. She blinked them away because she didn't want anything to ruin her make-up.

“He probably thinks I've given up on him.” Mira scoffed before leaving the office. She still had her eyes on him, she was just waiting and being patient. 

“The right time will come.” She always told herself.

Later that night, after the gathering, Mira came back home looking tuckered out. She had a very eventful day and just wanted to rest.

Her father seemed to have other plans when he asked her to sit beside him on the couch.
