Chapter 34. Those Emails Again
“There it was, what I’ve been saying. There’s my warning to you. Right, Sav? I told you not to hold on so much to the hopes given to you by your misleading ‘boy best friend!’” Sandra raised her two fingers in both hands to air-quote the words ‘boy best friend.’
She wanted to lecture and scold Savannah, but she pressed her lips together because she didn’t want her friend, who was already broken, to cry even more.
The three of them, Sandra, Savannah, and Shirley, were in Savannah’s room. Shirley still hadn’t gone home since last night when she slept over at Sav’s, and Sandra immediately had Drake drive her here because she knew it was an emergency when it came to Sav’s heartbreak. Her excuse to Drake was that she had forgotten some Korean dramas she wanted to copy. Drake didn’t ask any further questions and didn’t complain about giving her a ride.
