Chapter 79
Time is ticking and I have to be at Henry’s in an hour.
I withdraw my head from outside and I bravely hold onto my suitcase as I walk outside.
Why am I even afraid? If he sees me leaving, that’s his cup of tea.
As I walk on the pavement that leads to the front gate, the suitcase's little tires roll, creating a light steady noise.
The noise captures the attention of Robert and he turns his head in my direction. As soon as he sees me, he stands quickly to his feet and jogs towards me.
I ignore him and I keep walking.
“Jen, please talk to me. I am sorry.” He pleads and I gulp, not because of fear or anything like that, but because I can feel a lump in my throat.
When he notices that I am pretending like I don’t see him, he jumps in my path and stops me from going any further.
