Chapter 44. Many Good Qualities
“Was that man earlier your husband?” he questioned.
“You have a strange taste in… whatever he is.”
He had been tailing Jane, the sight of her kissing Ethan Harrington had filled him with hate.
Jane couldn't restrain herself from smiling at the thought of her husband.
“Strange or not, I like him. He is my husband. I know you think he is nothing more than an ugly cripple, but I couldn't ask for a better man. It is not true that appearance doesn't matter to me, it's just that the other things are much more important. He makes me happy. It's as simple as that.”
Growing up in the Harrison household she had lacked love and friendship, and had been perpetually mistreated. She had never dared to assert her own needs; her husband was more than enough for her, especially since she was still hopeful about his recovery.
“Then I guess you are just easy to please,”
