Jane must have played some tricks on him for a noble man like Ethan Harrington to endure degrees and smoke of the kitchen to help her with her cooking.

Jane was an efficient worker, in half an hour she had prepared three dishes and a soup. She called Cassidy and Bruce over for dinner.

But Ethan said, “They already had their dinner. Come, let's eat.”

“Bruce, Dr Owen, you both have eaten?” Jane asked, puzzled.

Cassidy hadn't had dinner yet, but Bruce answered for her.

“Yes, Young Mistress. We ate together earlier. Do enjoy your meal. Call us if you need anything.”

Cassidy glared at him. She had not eaten so why would he say otherwise?

Bruce shot in look, warning her not to air her grievances in front of them. Helplessly Cassidy bit her anger back and let him lead her out.
