Alyson’s POV
When we finally got to the parking area, she even opened the door for me, even though it wasn’t necessary. I went inside and just took a deep breath. She arranged my things in the compartment and then entered the driver’s seat.
I didn’t know what to say, so I just remained silent. Until Bea started driving, no one spoke to us. I remembered, if it took her almost five hours to see her patient, and she went straight to Elijah’s room, it means she hadn’t eaten yet.
“Bea?” I called her.
“Hmm?”
“Have you eaten?” I will ask.
“Why? Are you hungry yet?”
I shook my head. “Not yet, but I’m still full. I’m worried about you. You haven’t eaten yet, have you?” I will ask.
Bea glanced at me but also looked back at the road. “Yes. I didn’t have time to eat earlier, so I didn’t eat. You? Did you eat with Elijah?”
I shook my head. “No. My last meal was when we were together and then we had coffee, right?”
