Chapter 38. A Loving Father
The nursery was bathed in a cozy light as the sun flowed in through the window. Sam was standing near the cot, staring intently at the small infant within. He gently lowered himself to the ground and raised the infant into his arms, holding the fragile head with the utmost tenderness. The infant moved and uttered a little coo as if it were aware of its father's presence.
Mary smiled brightly as she stood next to Sam. As she observed Sam interacting with their child, her eyes glistened with adoration and affection. There is no parent she could have wished for who is more responsible and kinder. Mary said, "You're a natural, Sam," her voice trembling with admiration. "See how she looks at you; she recognizes you as her father."
Sam grinned with delight as he embraced Mary and their daughter with all of his heart. Mary said, "I can't believe she's ours; she's so perfect." His movements were soft and kind as he gently rocked the infant back and forth. The infant drew nearer
