Gwen's POV
"Where is your house located?"
"Far away," I respond.
"Come on, I'll accompany you."
I shake my head.
"You have a dinner with your parents. I don't want you to be late because of me. I can make it home on my own. I do it all the time."
"Don't they pick you up from school?"
"Do I look like the type of girl they pick up from school?"
"Not really," he confesses softly, and it lowers my defenses. I don't want to be rude to him, but I also don't want to be so soft that he thinks he can talk to me whenever he wants.
"Fine, then goodbye. I'll text you to schedule another date."
"I'll go with you. We can schedule it on the way to your house."
"I don't want you to accompany me, Conrad."
"Why? Any girl would like that."
"I'm not the type of girl who enjoys that. There are things that bother me, many things, and you don't have to break the barrier between student and teacher."
