“No, yes, maybe,” Carlo said.

“Which is it?” I growled.

Carlo smiled excitedly at what he knew.

“I saw him approach you, so I stopped him,” Carlo said. “I told him to wait and celebrate his last day as an unmated wolf. He is such a cocky wolf that he took the bait. I might have given him a little too much to drink, and I might have slipped him something while he was intoxicated. Then I told him about your little secret.”

Carlo got to his feet, shaking his head, annoyed.

“You know what he told me?” He asked angrily.

“No,” I said, hoping Carlo would stay where he was and not come closer.

“He said he didn’t mind you being disabled!” Carlo growled.
