Catherine’s POV

Why did Colt suddenly look so worried and uncomfortable?

Was it something I said?

Colt suddenly became quiet, and I guessed he must have mind-linked Sam or Grey.

Will he then tell me the truth?

A short moment passed, and I watched his expression.

I suddenly wonder where the boys were—did they deliberately leave me with Colt?

Colt released a breath, which sounded more like he was relieved.

“Okay,” he said. “I will tell you, but you need to promise me you will not be angry.”

I shifted my head to the side, searching for Colt’s gaze. He was deliberately trying to ignore my gaze.

He must feel embarrassed.

“I promise,” I said.

“Also, you need to keep an open mind,” he said.

I nodded, wondering what this was all about.

“We always knew that the chance of us having the same mate was extremely high,” he said, swallowing hard. “We decided the day we turned seventeen that we didn’t want to
