Chapter 68. Pretend to Sleep
“Daniel’s father?” muttered Angeline with a furrowed forehead. She felt hesitant to answer the phone or not because she knew Daniel’s relationship with his father was currently not okay.
“What if I get yelled at by him for answering Daniel’s phone?” Angeline wondered, but even so, she was still desperate to answer it.
“Never mind, just answer it first,” Angeline said while sliding the green icon on the screen. The call was connected.

“Hey, damn kid! Where are you now? Why haven’t you come home yet? It’s late; my business is in trouble, and you haven’t come home. Where have you been? Are you still drunk? Answer me!” Daniel’s father’s fiery voice cursed his only son, causing Angeline to pull the phone away from her ear.
