Lucas was unable to stop himself from crying as he recalled the miserable circumstances surrounding the death of his pet.

"Hey there, my darling... What is wrong?" When Heart sees her son upset, she can't help but feel guilty. "I apologize if what I said was in any way insensitive. Of course, I believe you. Your mother will never doubt you, even when you're wrong." She gave her son a light tap on the cheek and gazed at him with adoration in her eyes.

Lucas gave a short nod while fighting back his tears. He can still hear his grandmother's voice in his head, saying, "Boys don't cry." He mumbled something as he wrapped his arms around his grandmother and gave her a tight hug. "Grandmother..."

Lolita enters the living room just in time to prevent Lucas from losing his composure once more. "So, did you manage to track down your boss? She asked in a collected tone, "I heard Lucas tell someone that you go out in the middle of the night to find your coworkers."
