Chapter 33. A Newfound Boldness
Whispy tendrils of black smoke slowly appeared out of thin air and began taking a frighteningly familiar.
"M-M-Mark," Carla stuttered as she stumbled back.
"What is it?"
"Don't you see that?" She squeaked and he spun around to see what had spooked her so much.
Mark turned back to Carla with a concerned frown, not for the swirling black smoke slowly taking the shape of their enemy, but for her.
"Are you alright, Carla?"
"What do you mean am I alright?! The Alpha is right there!" She gestured at the spot with a violent gesture of her hand that caused her hair to whip around.
He turned to where she was pointing again, then back to her with that annoying concern in his eyes, like he was blind to the obvious threat, despite all his enhanced senses.
"Are you okay?" Carla accused with wide frustrated eyes.
