Night falls on the castle again. The days have started to blur together since I’ve been here. When I had my own home in the village, I was a step removed from the goings-on at the castle. I had a barrier between me and the business of the kingdom, but now I’m… knee deep–no, shoulder deep–in the responsibilities that will one day be my sole purpose as king of this land and these people. 

From morning to dusk, I’ve spent my time hovering between my father’s office and my own, delegating tasks, working with his commanders to ensure our borders are safe from threats that lurk in the shadows, waiting for an in… like my upcoming nuptials. Mom is busier than I’ve ever seen.
