Chapter 22

Ray’s POV

I crossed and uncrossed my legs for the tenth time.

I felt nervous sitting on the chair, but I didn’t allow it to show.

Well, that was if you ignore how fast my legs were shaking, and how sweaty my palms were.

Those showed how nervous I was.

I glanced at the door for the sixth time since that maid left, half expecting Moon to barge in at any time.

She should have found him by now, right?

It’s not as if getting to him will be difficult if he’s in the compound like the maid claimed he was.

I rose from the chair, and walked to the door, only to rush back when I thought I heard sounds coming from the other side of the door.

My heart was beating so loudly that it was deafening to my ears. I pursed my lips, and crossed my legs, with my hands placed over them.

If he doesn’t show up at the count of a hundred, I’m going to return to bed. And should he come after, I won’t give him the time of the day.
