Chapter 23

Ray’s POV

“Ray?” He tried to touch me, but I slapped his hand off my body.

“Don’t ever think of touching me. Do you want me out of here? I’m leaving.” I turned and headed for the closet.

Luckily for me, I had one of the maids hang the clothes I was putting on the night he caught me.

Not the second time, the first one. The one I wore when he caught me when I escaped, was cut that same day.

Tears prickled the side of my eyes, but I sniffed, to keep them at bay.

In no way will I allow him to know how much his words hurt me.

I won’t allow him to see that.

He doesn’t love me, and never cared about me. Shedding tears in his presence will be more like rubbing things in.
