Chapter 57. Completely Hopeless

BELLADONNA 

My eyes widened and I suddenly felt breathing. “W-what?” I stammered, almost shouting. “Kade is here?! Why?”

“Uhm… Sir, can I ask about your purpose for visiting?” 

Kade’s voice came through, calm and… cold. “I need her to sign a document.”

“He needs you to sign a document, ma’am,” my assistant repeated, sounding a bit nervous. 

Yeah, I could sympathize with her. Just hearing his voice alone, I could only imagine how cold his voice was. 

I cleared my voice. “Let him in.”

As soon as I ended the call, I turned to Gianna, my eyes wide. 

“How do I look?” I asked, patting my hair. 

She just gave me a bored look. “The same as you did this morning.” 

I nodded. “Okay, still beautiful.” I waved her off. “Now shoo. He’ll be here any moment. I want to be alone with my husband.”

She just rolled her eyes but she left. And just as she was leaving, Kade was entering.
