His hand was sweaty in mine as we ran, and it was slipping away from mine. I screamed at him to hold on. To never let go. He shouldn't dare. If he did, I would kill him myself. 

But he reassured me that he wasn't letting go no matter what. He was going to always hold on, and that was all the reassurance I needed. It made me know it was all worth it. I was throwing my life away from him, my inheritance, and my future, so the least he could do was hold on.
