Chapter 63. Asher Reveals the Truth

“Hey! What’s wrong?” I bent down and quickly reached out to wipe the tears off his chubby cheek. My heart ached to see him cry like that.

Taking his hand I brought him inside the room so we could sit and talk. Asher had gone to the bathroom to shower and change.

“You didn’t-even make food for me last night. It was unfinished and then-you didn’t even come to my room-to wish me goodnight or give me a kiss.” He hiccupped, rubbing his eyes and crying some more.

The pangs of guilt gripped my heart. I was so consumed with Asher that I completely forgot about Oliver.

“I am so sorry, Oliver. I should have done all that. I promise this will never be repeated. Please, have it in your heart to forgive me?” I requested while touching my ears and sincerely apologizing to him.

He gave me a hurtful look before speaking in his enraged voice.

“It’s not your fault, it’s my father’s fault. He has stolen you away from me.”
