Chapter 58. Return of the Father

Lennox’s POV

Levi has been locked in Lotus’s office for most of the day. I don’t have to guess what they are doing. Her moans are filling the halls. She would be absolutely mortified to know we can all hear her, but she needs this. They both do.

“Alpha,” a warrior rushes in from outside. “A man has just breached our borders. He claims he is Lotus’s father.”

Before I can respond, the heavy doors of the Winter Pack’s hall slam open, and the scent of blood and smoke rushes in. Every head turns.

Lotus’s adoptive father, Jeffery, stumbles across the threshold, his once-sturdy frame broken down into something barely recognizable. His coat is torn, one sleeve hanging by threads, his face marred with cuts and bruises. He limps, dragging one leg, and blood is crusted down the side of his head. My chest tightens at the sight. Lotus’s adoptive father, the man she still calls family, is reduced to this.
