Chapter 36. A Heart Unbroken
She loved him.
Sasha finally declares what he’s asked of her during that midnight when they make love on her birthday.
“I love you, Ansel. I just want you to know that. More than as my childhood best friend. More than as my Alpha. Even when you just stared at me when Alain whipped me with his shadows, even when I am here in the dungeons barely alive…deep down, I know that my heart will always belong to you.”
Ansel swallowed. Never in a conversation Ansel has been left speechless. There was never a time he ran out of anything to say.
Until now. Until when Sasha finally, truly, confessed.
‘I’m not dreaming, am I?’
He tried to wipe away the tear that escaped her eyes to convince himself that she is real. This is real. Not just some figment of his imagination or some glamour courtesy of Alain’s shadow manipulation.
‘She is here. She is with me,’ he sighed a breath of relief. Smiling down at Sasha, he caressed her cheeks. “I do.”
She gasped
