Chapter 128. The Escape

I went to my room, sealing the door with magic. I really needed to rest. But before that, I needed to know how Harvey was. That fool needed to be warned about the attack; I didn't want any of ours to get hurt.

I marked the ground with extracorporeal magic, a pressing need urging me to speed. Sitting in the center, I chanted with determination:

“Lead me to my companion!” I demanded the guiding magic.

Harvey was diving into the river, absorbed in his bath. Looking around, I realized I was alone in an unfamiliar place. Aware that he was on the move, hunting me.

“I feel your presence, human.” He murmured without lifting his eyes, sniffing the scent of extracorporeal magic.

“I see you're unharmed… After the confrontation with the beast!” I commented in his direction, turning my face to the side and avoiding staring at him completely naked; even in this form, I felt embarrassed.
