Chapter 53. Hybrid Clan

Damon POV

I looked after Olivia with the help of the nanny while Stella was sleeping. I hate being a burden to Stella; she’s the reason I’m alive. After her breakfast, I patted Olivia gently. “You’ll be a great dad, Alpha Damon,” the nanny said.

“You think so?” I asked.

“Yes, Alpha. You’ve learned to care for a child better than most fathers. Many of them lack the skills to care for a baby,” she replied. Her words made me feel like I could be a parent too and not a burden to Stella. It was a relief. The nanny took care of Olivia, and I went back to the office to write in my journal. A dark voice whispered that it would send dark forces as soon as that cursed Lycan child was born, before squeezing the life out of me. The voice mocked me, saying I couldn’t protect Olivia and Stella. But jokes on them—my Stella brought me back to life. I need to protect Olivia; I failed to be there for Kellan, but I need to be there for my niece, Olivia.
