Chapter 13. Should I Tell Her?
I lay sprawled on Lottie's bed, staring at the ceiling. The weight of the past weeks pressed down on me like a heavy fog, obscuring any hope of clarity. The deal with Astaroth loomed over everything, a constant reminder of our past mistakes. Lottie, my sister, my everything she carried were the light that pierced through that fog. She was fearless, strong, and fiercely loyal. The pups she carried only amplified my determination to protect her.
I heard the faint sound of the front door creaking open. My ears perked up, and my wolf, Thor, snickered in the back of my mind.
"You know she'll drive, baby, right?" he laughed, the sound echoing in my head.
"Shut up, Thor," I muttered, groaning as I dramatically threw my hands down on the bed. "She knows not to touch baby." I added, chewing my gums.
