Chapter 45. Night Before

My mind has been going nonstop since earlier today. We’ve talked and revised the plan to make sure all bases are covered. There’s always the possibility that something was missed, but we did the best we could. Tomorrow night is going to be here before anyone can stop it, and it’s going to be extremely intense. I wish I had some idea of how this is supposed to turn out.

I drop the towel that’s around my waist and slip between the sheets. I move toward the center of the bed and connect with Jenna. I wrap my body around her warm one and tighten my hold on her. I never thought we’d end up like this, but here we are, and I live for it.

“Are you nervous about tomorrow?” I sigh and peer into the darkness, not settling my gaze on anything.

“I really don’t need to be. We aren’t a vital part of the plan and will only be dealing with any stragglers. As long as we stay alert, they shouldn’t be able to use our pack as a distraction.” I settle into the silence
