Roul growls in my mind, not liking the disrespect. We may be siblings, but I’m the oldest. I come first, no matter how Ares feels about it. There’s no disrespecting me and being able to get away with it. I don’t want to make a scene in front of Akia at such an early stage in our relationship. I shake it off and decide to focus on my mate.

I make eye contact with Akia, but I am having trouble reading her right now. “Akia, were you looking for me?” Her eyes drift away from me and settle on my brother. I can’t really read her right now, so I can only hope that she speaks up for herself.
