Selene POV

Nyx turns again for what feels like the millionth time. I swear she’s pacing so much that she’s going to make grooves in the floor. I’m honestly starting to get dizzy with all of her back and forth. “Must you keep doing that?” She turns to glare at me, then continues moving. “Wearing a hole in my floor isn’t going to solve anything.” I stretch out on my chaise, shifting to get comfortable. Nyx turns to me again with a grimace.

“How can you sit there and be so… so… so calm?!”

“How would you suggest I act, hmmm? What would make you happy?” Nyx lets out a strangled noise that makes me want to laugh. I know better than to do that right now, though. She’s too worked up to take a joke.
