Chapter 42. Satan’s Brothers

The following events take place 18 months after I left the City of Colors.

We planned to get into the King’s court unnoticed, in the disguise of merchants, but our body features betrayed us. “No dark skin man is a merchant, and no Babylonian woman has yellow hair,” the Chief Guard disagreed earlier, his bushy brows knotted in annoyance.
“Egyptians are spies!” He spat on Hur, which, in turn, led to the current situation. As much as I hate to admit it, there is some truth in his words. Dark, handsome men are known to be of the Nubian tribe in Egypt, the elites and richest of all. The Pharaohs of Egypt are usually dark-skin men, too.
Although not all of them are considered fancy and rich, the ones like Hur, well-built, handsome, and eloquent, are definitely in the noble category.
