Because I had so much on my mind during dinner, I couldn’t really talk and share stories with the king and queen as I did the night before. I didn’t have much energy, so I only answered their questions and spoke about what they asked. Most of their questions were about my first day as an intern at Acero, and after I answered and told them about it, they changed the topic and started talking to Katherine and Kennedy.

After dinner, I went straight back to my room and immediately lay down on my bed to fall asleep quickly. My overthinking had gotten out of hand—I even started to imagine that my body might be in the hospital in the present time, in a coma because my soul was here. I worried that my mom and dad, as well as Asher, who considered my parents like his own and me as his best friend and sister, were dealing with the stress of me not waking up.

Thankfully, Princess Kara’s body and mind must have gotten tired from all the overthinking, so I eventually
