I continued wandering through the other departments, my footsteps echoing faintly in the quiet hallways. As I looked around while wandering, I couldn’t help but admire the architecture of the buildings that I knew were preserved in the present time.
But as I stared at the walls that were made of thick, uneven stone, and intricate wooden beams framed the ceilings, I couldn’t help but notice like there was some kind of an air adding more craftsmanship that felt long lost in the present day.
Even the windows were tall and arched, with iron bars running through them, giving the whole place a slightly Gothic feel. Sunlight filtered through thick, yellowed glass, casting a warm but dim glow across the corridors, and I could smell a faint mixture of old paper, wood polish, and the earthy scent of stone.
