“What about you? What are you doing here?” Dylan asked Von sharply, his voice tinged with suspicion. “Are you the one who left that bloody note, telling us to come to this place?” His brows furrowed, and he turned slightly, angling his body protectively between me and Von.

Von’s face contorted in confusion as he shook his head. “Bloody note? What bloody note?” he asked, his tone incredulous. “I didn’t send you anything! I wasn’t planning to go through with my original idea anymore… because the stalker sent me a note. He told me we’d settle things here tonight.”

That sent my mind reeling. What was going on? Did the stalker know Von was also involved in tormenting us? And if so, what was his plan? Why were the three of us being drawn here like this?

“What… what do you think the stalker’s planning?” I asked, pressing my fingers against my temples as if trying to squeeze clarity out of the chaos. “Why would he bring all three of us here?” My hands flew
