It was around 3:10 PM when the conference I attended finally ended. I was able to head back to my condo unit quickly to change. Fortunately, all my formal and party outfits were here, while my casual and loungewear were back in Parkertown.
Since the theme of Mom’s birthday party revolved around her favorite color—light purple—I sifted through my wardrobe, pulling out clothes that matched the theme. One by one, I held them up against myself in front of the mirror, scrutinizing each choice.
For some reason, I felt this growing pressure to dress my best. Maybe it was because Zac would be there, and I wanted to make a good impression.
