Chapter 373. Where Are You, Tate?
ASHER
After escorting Auntie to the stage, Lee and I returned to our table. Uncle went to another table parallel to ours but on the opposite side of the venue, where he joined Auntie’s close friends.
As I sat back down, I noticed that the seat to my right was still empty—Tate’s seat. He hadn’t arrived yet. Sighing, I instinctively reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone. I checked it, hoping for a reply, a message, or even a missed call from Tate. But there was nothing.
Frustrated but trying not to show it, I typed another text. This would be my last one—probably. I didn’t want to seem desperate or like I was chasing after his attention. Besides, if I sent too many messages, he might realize how much I’d been waiting for him, and I didn’t want that.
To: Tate
Where are you, Tate? Auntie’s birthday party has already started. Please let me know if you’re still planning to come or not… or if you’ll make it at all. Thanks.
