When Lee and I saw that the man in the police cartographer’s sketch closely resembled Collin, I abruptly stood up, nodding several times with a mixture of excitement and unease. “Yes… yes! That’s… that’s how he looks like,” I said, my voice trembling slightly as I pointed at the sketch.
Lee squinted briefly at the image, her gaze lingering for a few seconds before she finally nodded as well. “I… I’m sure too,” she said hesitantly. Her voice faltered as she added, “I just… I’m not sure what his name is or where we might find him. But… but I’m certain I’ve seen him lurking around Parkertown General Hospital the last time I went there.”
Her tone wavered, and I caught the subtle flicker of dishonesty in her eyes. She was lying, of course. Both of us knew we’d never encountered Collin’s reincarnation in this lifetime.
