Chapter 26

Alanna fainted and fell to the floor. Matheus lifted her in a panic and rushed to help her.

“Alanna… Baby, wake up!”

Matheus placed Alanna on the bed, then called Vanessa.

“Vanessa, Alanna passed out out of nowhere. Help me, she won’t wake up!”

“What?! What happened?! I’m coming.”

Matheus hastily covered Alanna with a robe and dressed himself quickly. Vanessa and Anthony arrived as Matheus descended the stairs, carrying Alanna.

“What happened?”

“We were in bed, she got up, said something was wrong, and then she collapsed.”

“I’ve already called the doctor; he’s on his way to the emergency room.”

Matheus held Alanna in the back seat of the car, stroking her face and pleading for her to wake up. He rushed into the hospital’s emergency room with Alanna in his arms. A nurse brought a stretcher, and they entered with Alanna. Two and a half hours later, Alanna’s doctor arrived.

“Hello, Vanessa.”
