Chapter 57
Yana had just bid farewell to John downstairs and was now on her way to her locker. As she strolled down the hallway, she could not help but overhear some students gossiping about her. Their hushed whispers reached her ears, laden with words that aimed to hurt and criticize her. "So shameless," one said. "Such a flirt," another muttered. "She’s a bitch," chimed in yet another voice.
It was an odd experience for Yana, as she did not feel personally affected by the hurtful remarks. What really hurt her was the realization that John did not trust her.
As she continued walking, she could not help but notice the gazes and stares of the other students around her. Their disapproving glances intensified as she approached her locker. When she opened it, an avalanche of trash and crumpled papers spilled out, instantly tarnishing her spirits.
