Chapter 5

It was as if the entire room was rotating in the eyes of Victoria. She was still comprehending what Mr Smith had just said to her. There was no way she heard right, she thought to herself, shaking her head furiously refusing to believe she heard him right.

Her heart broke into a thousand pieces as she thought of the words over and over again. Did he indeed fire her? She asked herself, still in a state of shock.

She thought in her head that she was dreaming but the face of Mr Smith remained unchanged. Her eyes filled with tears but she remained strong, fighting back the tears that threatened to fall. She was starting to panic again but she didn't want to show it and she was afraid it would only make her look stupid.

She swallowed a painful lump in her throat, thinking of what to do next or how to begin. Working for Smith technologies had always been her dream and now she had lost the chances of showing what she is capable of before she could begin. Nothing hurt
