Chapter 64. The Unexpected Visit

Jace’s POV

I felt really relieved when Jacob made his promise. At least, there was someone willing to look out for me despite everything and I relaxed. There was no doubt that I still felt really sad at the fact that we had missed Molly but that did not bother me. I just hoped that she would be okay. Something also gnawed at me. It was the fact that all this while when I had been working, I could have actually gone over to see her and at the very least get her contact. It was my own fault that I had been too stuck up in my ass to go check on her. I could have struck a conversation, gotten her contact and moved on.

Eventually, we arrived home and I and Jacob started to go down from the car when we ran into Garrett out front. He approached me and my heart started skipping a lot of beats as I watched him approach. There was this uncertainty in his eyes that I felt I must have misdiagnosed.
