Chapter 143. Happy Birthday

Maddie knew she had to leave the mansion and make her way to the villa to rescue her father before things got too dramatic. Her leg throbbed with every step, but she pushed through the pain, her mind racing with thoughts of what she needed to do next. 

The thought that she had literally killed someone made her skin crawl but knowing that the someone was Elder Roy made her feel a bit better. 

With the help of a sympathetic nurse, she managed to slip out of the mansion without drawing too much attention. She called a taxi and gave the driver the address of the villa. It did not take long and she finally arrived at the place. 

It was already morning and the sun was up but the day seemed to be filled with busyness already. Maddie so happened to have some cash on her, it was not a lot, but it was enough to pay the cab driver.
