I thought I heard a sound.
I rose; there was this strange feeling; it was like someone had been here-watching me sleep. I moved to the balcony, closing the door.
I faintly remembered crying myself to sleep. Now I couldn't go back to sleep. I wondered how Kaden was doing—did the blister still burn?
Another wave of sadness rocked through me. It was time I realized the truth, and that was that Aradia did more harm than good.
I had ended up pushing away every single person who cared about me.
I walked out of the room, I had to go apologise.
I missed Damien; I missed him being so close, and I hated the distance I had put between us.
I stopped before the door to 'our' room, hesitating, and just then the door was thrown open, and there Damien stood. I had thought he was asleep, but he didn't seem to be. His breath smelled of alcohol.
