I walked into the waiting room where Aurora laid, unmoving; if not for the slight tick of her pulse and the little heart beat, one could think she was already dead.
She was in a coma—that's what humans call it—in a state in between life and death, and I wondered what would have changed if I put in more efforts, if I tried my very best, if I never stopped fighting.
I would never know.
I hadn't noticed I was crying till I felt the wetness on my cheeks. I wiped it off quickly, and just then I had footsteps approaching. I turned to see it was Isis. Great. The healers had left the room to give me a little privacy, I didn't like being alone with Isis.
"What are you doing here?"
"Paying a friend a visit," she said with a sly smile.
"Don't give me that; you do not care about her; if you did, you would have helped her."
"Or I did; why do you think she is here now?"
