Chapter 68
It was a Wednesday, and one of the beautiful things about the day was that I had a few hours alone, just to myself, without Diego there to babysit me. Poor man, he had his own life to live, but he had to be here with me.
There was a knock on the door, and I arched my eyebrow.
Did Diego enjoy this job more than I believe he did?
“Come in,” I called, but whoever was knocking didn’t.
Strange.
I walked to the door and pulled the door open. Only to see Nate, he looked exactly as he always does, except for the dark circles around his eyes. It must be due to Aurora. He kept staring around, like he was making sure no one was close by and watching, and the feeling to back away from him was strong, but I don’t. He can’t hurt me.
“What do you want, Nate?” I asked. I and Nate had never been on good terms; I disliked him, and I had remembered hitting him once and the furious look on his face after I did that. Would he have hit me back
