Chapter 41. Scott's Anger at His Adopted Father
His eagle eyes gazed at the entire mansion, scrutinizing every corner. Nothing had changed at all. Not even an inch.
Walking quite a distance from the entrance, his steps stopped right in front of the fireplace near the living room. The fireplace had not changed either. It still had a black wooden roof fixed to it. Not to forget the black soot and ashes that were still neatly stored in the grate near the fireplace. He estimated that this fireplace had not been used since fifteen years ago. It was dusty and dull.
"Where is Mr. Darren?" he asked one of the servants.
"In his room, sir," the servant replied.
The man went up to the second floor, where the owner of the mansion was. The quiet, lonely air gave him goosebumps as he climbed the stairs.
