Chapter 55. James Is Back

The middle-aged man came to see Scott. After the events of a few months ago, he intended to reveal them today in front of his adopted son. Everything Scott wanted, he would give. He loved Scott dearly, even though he was not his own biological son.

"Mr. Scott, someone is looking for you." Hanna, Scott's secretary, appeared from behind the door. Scott gave her a quick glance and went back to his work.

"Who?" Scott asked coldly.

"Mr. Darren. Would you like to come in?" The secretary asked, with a nod from Scott.

Soon after, Darren and his bodyguard entered. Scott was momentarily stunned by Darren's pitiful condition. His adoptive father was sitting in a wheelchair with a leg that he could not move at all.

Scott's heart sank at the sight. He stood up to greet his adopted father and invited him to sit on the sofa, but he refused.

"Dad?" Scott called Darren his father. Darren turned his head; his level gaze turned sad and teary. "Why come to my office?
